The MLZL weCat3D Sensor for Welding Systems
Reliable Positioning of Welding Seams in Welding Systems
Fully automated welding places great demands on quality and precision.
Consequently, the correct position of the respective joints must be reliably detected before the welding process is started in the robot cell.
Welding systems are equipped with innovative weCat3D 2D/3D profile sensors for the purpose of weld seam tracking.

Suitable for All Types of Joints
2D/3D profile sensors can be used for various types of joints.
The configurable uniVision software offers modules and templates specially developed for weld seam tracking, which enables detection of the laser guide point thanks to a special algorithm for all joint types and thus guides the welding unit precisely.

Versatile for Welding Processes
With the following types of welding, for example:
- MIG – Metal Inert Gas
Metal welding with inert, i.e. inactive gases
- MAG – Metal Active Gas
Metal welding with active gases
- WIG – Wolfram Inert Gas
Metal welding with a non-melting pure or alloy tungsten electrode
- Laser welding (EN ISO 4063: Process 52)
Laser welding permits high welding speeds with highly precise results
